1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how HKY IQ (“HKY IQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit hkyiq.com, use our design tools (“Labs”), create a Player Card, place an order, or otherwise interact with us.

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & household details — name, email, and the players you add to your household account. You may create profiles for multiple players (for example, your children) within one account.
- Player Card & profile data — the information you enter or generate when building a Player Card: display name, position, jersey number, team, play-style answers, recommended build, and specs.
- Order & contact information — what you tell us when you place an order, request a custom design, coordinate a team order, or contact support.
- Team information — if you coordinate or join a team order, roster and team details associated with that order.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & device data — pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, scrolling and navigation, approximate location (derived from a truncated IP address), browser, operating system, and device type.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5.
- Analytics and session activity — see Section 5.
Information from third parties
- Payment & checkout — our checkout is operated by Shopify. Payment card details are collected and processed by Shopify and its payment processors; HKY IQ does not receive or store full payment card numbers.
- Email/marketing platform — we use Klaviyo to send email you've opted into and to personalize it.
3. How we use your information
We use information to: operate the site and Labs; build, save, and recommend Player Cards and gear; process and fulfill orders and team orders; provide customer support and warranty service; send transactional and (where you've opted in) marketing email; understand and improve how the site is used; and protect against fraud, abuse, and security risks, and comply with law.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers that run our business — including Shopify (storefront, checkout, payments), Microsoft Clarity (analytics and session replay — Section 5), Klaviyo (email), and our hosting and infrastructure providers — each acting on our behalf under contract.
- Legal and safety — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
5. Cookies, analytics, and session recording
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
Microsoft Clarity. We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our site. Clarity captures behavioral data such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, and navigation patterns, and may produce aggregated session replays and heatmaps. Clarity automatically masks sensitive content — including form inputs, email addresses, and numbers — so that information is not captured or transmitted to Clarity. Clarity uses cookies and may collect device and approximate-location data (such as a truncated IP address). Clarity is configured for analytics only; we do not use it for advertising. Your regional choices
- EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland — we ask for your opt-in consent before any analytics cookies are set. If you decline, your session is not recorded and no analytics cookies are stored.
- United States and Canada — analytics and session activity are enabled by default under this notice. You can opt out at any time using , and we honor browser-based opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC).
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended.
6. Your privacy choices and rights
- Opt out of analytics (US/Canada): use or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser; we treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out.
- Withdraw consent (EEA/UK/CH): decline or change your cookie choice at any time via .
- Marketing email: unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
- US state privacy rights (California and other states): you may have the right to access, delete, correct, and opt out of the “sale”/“sharing” of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact customerservice@hkyiq.com.
- Canada (PIPEDA / Quebec Law 25): you may access and correct your personal information and withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual limits.
- EEA/UK (GDPR): where applicable, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
7. Children's privacy
HKY IQ sells hockey gear to parents, guardians, and adult players, and our accounts are intended to be created and managed by adults (the “household”). The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian may create player profiles (which can include a child's first name, position, and team) within their own adult-managed account. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact customerservice@hkyiq.com and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, fulfill orders and warranty obligations, comply with legal requirements, and resolve disputes. Analytics data captured by Microsoft Clarity is retained per Microsoft's retention practices.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International visitors
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, which may have different data-protection laws.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
